Flyback transformer repair tip

Its often wise when replacing a flyback transformer in a CRT product to also replace the Horizontal output transistor at the same time for optimal performance. A degraded HOT can cause the transformer to arc and damage nearby components on the deflection board and make a repair more complicated, while also possibly ruining the new flyback.

We are offering now new HOT's for purchase with a flyback as an option "Output transistor".  It will also show up as an accessory or related item during the product view or in checkout. If not, ask for one and we will see if its in stock or if there is an upgraded version for the original one.

Some will have "on board" damper diodes built in and those can replace the ones without the onboard diode. In cases where the board has an external damper soldered nearby, having 2 dampers is not a bad thing unless its degraded so keep that in mind.
